After reducing their spending significantly in the past two years, La Liga giants Real Madrid are ready to make big investments in their squad once again. According to Spanish media outlet AS, one of those investments could be Bayern Munchen’s star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Real pursued Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe this summer but saw all their bids rejected by the French club. Los Blancos are expected to circle back to Mbappe in January, when they can sign the Frenchman as a free agent, but want to bring in another big name to Santiago Bernabeu alongside him.

Reportedly, Real’s dream scenario is pairing Mbappe with Borussia Dortmund’s phenom Erling Haaland. However, if the club fails to win the Haaland sweepstakes, they will turn to Lewandowski as an alternative.

Getting Robert Lewandowski to move to Spain shouldn’t be an issue for Real, especially since the player has expressed interest in a move away from Bundesliga. Multiple reports in the past indicated that Lewandowski wants a new challenge and has even expressed his wish to Bayern. The Bavarian giants have been reluctant to let him go so far but might change their mind once the 33-year-old star approaches the end of his contract.

After breaking the Bundesliga record with 41 goals last season, Lewandowski entered 2021-22 in a similar fashion. He scored in all four games he played in currently has seven goals on his tally.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
