Real Madrid is reportedly looking to bolster their defense with Canada’s star wing-back Alphonso Davies. According to Spanish media, the La Liga powerhouse is exploring a move for Davies after his future with Bayern Munich became uncertain.

Davies is under contract with Bayern until the summer of 2025. The two sides have been negotiating a new deal for a while now, but a recent shakeup in Bayern’s administration has caused the talks to come to a halt.

If Davies and Bayern can’t agree to a new deal anytime soon, the German club would be motivated to sell the 22-year-old player in order to avoid losing him for free. They previously made that mistake with star center-back David Alaba, who left the club as a free agent and signed with Real in 2021.

There is a possibility that Real will make a move for Davies in January if he is available for the right price. If not, they will likely wait until the summer to be more aggressive in their approach.

Alphonso Davies started his career with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, making his debut during the 2016 MLS season. He ended up playing 81 games and scoring 12 goals with the Whitecaps before securing a $13.5 million transfer to Bayern in January 2019.

Since arriving in Germany, Davies has established himself as one of Bayern’s key players. He helped the club claim five consecutive Bundesliga titles while also being part of the squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2019–20.
