Real Madrid’s 2019-20 Champions League campaign got off to a flat start after Los Blancos were dominated by Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain, despite playing without its two biggest stars in Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe, made easy work of the 13-time Champions League title winners, taking a 2-0 second half lead and preventing Real Madrid from mounting any sort of comeback bid.

Angel di Maria was the man of the match for PSG, scoring two first half goals to put his team in control of the match. The Argentinian forward beat Real Madrid goalie Thibaut Courtois with two cool strikes to put the game essentially out of reach for an out of sync Real Madrid.

Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier scored a goal in the final minutes of the game to put the cherry on top of the PSG win.

Real Madrid’s performance was truly listless, as the team didn’t manage a single shot on goal against former keeper Keylor Navas. The team lacked creativity and simply had no answer for PSG’s offense nor its defense.

Real Madrid will look to bounce back in their next Champions League match at home against Club Brugge later this month, while PSG will look to continue its hot start at Galatasaray.
