Real Madrid has clarified that while they remain wary of all possible outcomes, they remain confident that they will be able to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG this summer.
Last summer, it seemed as if Mbappe was on the verge of joining Madrid when he suddenly did a U-turn, instead choosing to sign a new contract with PSG.
After already signing Jude Bellingham, Joselu, Fran García, and Brahim Díaz this transfer window, Los Galacticos have adopted the public position that their transfer activities this summer are complete. Still, the team’s main striker role remains vacant following Karim Benzema’s departure to Saudi club Al Ittihad.
While Mbappe previously stated publicly that he wishes to continue playing for PSG for one more season, multiple sources have claimed that he wants to sign for Madrid this summer. PSG may be tempted into a deal in order to avoid losing him on a free when his contract lapses next year.
