The Dutch club Ajax had a really good season this year and some of their players especially stood out, drawing great interest for them during this summer’s transfer period.
One of those players was Donny van de Beek who really shined on the field during this season, attracting the attention of many great European football clubs including Barcelona, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United. So far, Real Madrid has been the most serious competitor for de Beek’s signature.
Now, with the uncertainty of Paul Pogba’s signing, the Dutch player is becoming the favorite for Real Madrid’s next acquirement. Sports media are reporting that Real Madrid is starting to show new interest in the young player and that there is an undisclosed deal between them and Ajax for the midfielder. Some media are going a step further, reporting that the deal was already agreed upon by the club and the player and that van de Beek may sign a 5- or 6-year contract.
Football experts agree that the probable price of the 22-year-old midfielder will be somewhere around $66 million, which is a good price as the club will be paying almost $100 million less than the price of Paul Pogba.
