In this week’s Madrid Derby, both teams played a frustrating match without chances on both sides of the pitch. The home team had 0 shots on target the entire match, while the visitors had many chances to close the match, but Jan Oblak kept a clean sheet.

Real Madrid had more ball control and shots on Atletico’s goal, but Oblak proved himself as one of the best goalkeepers on the planet. Atletico focused on counter-attacks through their new mega-talent Joao Felix, but the first half ended goalless.

At the start of the second 45 minutes, Real increased the tempo, pushing their rivals on their own half, creating a lot of small chances on Oblak’s goal. The Slovenian keeper denied all the shots, again saving his team despite their weak performance in this derby.

Karim Benzema had the best chance for the Galacticos, but his header was once again amazingly saved by Jan Oblak. Zinedine Zidane decided to use James Rodriguez from the bench, but the Columbian changed nothing and the game ended with a goalless draw. Barcelona is the team that used this draw to cut the lead and close in on the Madrid teams.
