In 2017, running back Dion Lewis had a career season with the New England Patriots. Lewis led the team in rushing yards with 896 yards and had six rushing touchdowns while adding 214 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Still, this didn’t help him to get a long-term contract with the team and he eventually signed with Tennessee Titans. The reason for why Pats passed on him according to the 27-year- old is that they didn’t think he was “good enough.”

I’m happy with the decision, and this is the decision I would’ve made even if they did offer,“- Lewis told the Boston Globe. “If they wanted me, they could’ve had me. But obviously, they didn’t want me, they didn’t think I was good enough to be there. I just had to move on and do what’s best for me.”

Although the fact that Patriots passed on him will give Dion Lewis some extra motivation, he says he is motivated enough being doubted his whole career.

I always carry a chip on my shoulder, always eager to prove the kind of player I am,” – he added “and that’s not going to change just because I got a contract. I’m self-motivated. I feel like I’m a great player and I’m always eager to show what type of player I am.

Lewis inked a four-year contract worth around $20 million with the Titans in March. He joined former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel, who was named the team’s head coach in 2018, and several other former Pats players.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
