The times when the Baltimore Ravens knew they would put some points on the board every time they got in a field goal position seem to be over. At least, judging by the first three games of the 2024 NFL season.

The Ravens’ Justin Tucker, the most accurate kicker in the history of the league, is off to an uncharacteristically bad start to the campaign. Following a failed 46-yard attempt in Sunday’s 28-25 win against the Dallas Cowboys, Tucker has now missed field goals in three straight games for the first time in his career.

Additionally, Tucker’s FG conversion of 62.5% (5-of-8) is the worst in the league among kickers who attempted three or more field goals.

Still, Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh doesn’t seem to be worried too much about Tucker. While speaking with reporters on Monday, Harbaugh said he believes it is only a temporary slump.

“It’s just a technique issue right now that he’s working through,” Harbaugh explained. “He knows exactly what it is and just needs to smooth it back out. I’m very confident that he will.”

Despite the misses, Tucker, who made his NFL debut in 2012, still has an 89.7% success rate for his career. But if he doesn’t improve soon, he might have to cede that place. Carolina Panthers’ Eddy Pineiro and Kansas City Chiefs’ Harrison Butker each have an 89.5% success rate.
