It looks like journeyman linebacker L.J. Fort is staying put this time. Ravens announced on Friday that they have signed Fort to a two-year contract extension which will keep him with the organization through 2021.

Fort joined Ravens in Week 5 and immediately managed to make his mark on the team’s defense. He played four games, starting three, and managed to contribute with 14 tackles, 1.0 sack and one pass defended.

According to NFL Network, Fort’s extension is worth $5.5 million, with $3.25 million being guaranteed.

“We’re excited to have him going forward,” – said Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh. “He’s played well in everything we’ve asked him to do. He’s been out there a lot on defense, different packages, special teams as well. He’s proven to be a good player, good fit for us.”

L.J. Fort started his NFL career by signing with Cleveland Browns in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. Browns released him after his rookie season, and he ended up spending the next two years with various teams, but played only one game during that time.

Fort then signed with Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played between 2015 and 2018, before eventually joining Philadelphia Eagles on a three-year deal ahead of 2019 NFL season. He eventually made four appearances with Eagles before being cut in late September.
