After seeing Greg Zuerlein leave for Dallas Cowboys in the free agency, Los Angeles Rams decided to double down on his replacement. The team announced on Monday that they have signed kickers Lirim Hajrullahu and Austin MacGinnis.

Hajrullahu comes from Canadian Football League, where he spent the last season with Hamilton Tiger-Cats. MacGinnis, on the other hand, last played with XFL’s Dallas Renegades.

Lirim Hajrullahu spent his entire career in CFL, spending time with Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts, and Tiger-Cats. He won the Grey Cup in 2017 and was twice selected to the CFL All-Star team. Hajrullahu made 47 out of 55 field goals attempted last season, while having a career percentage of 83.3 percent.

Austin MacGinnis, on the other hand, played college football at Kentucky before going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He then played with Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football and showed promise before the league ceased its operations. With Renegades, he was 10-for-10 on field goals, being only the second XFL kicker with the perfect conversion.

Rams didn’t have to worry about the kicker position in the past, as Zuerlein did a pretty good job in the past eight years. Still, he decided to leave this year and ink a three-year, $7.5 million contract with the Cowboys.
