The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly looking to trade All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp and have already talked with other NFL teams about a possible deal.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the Rams are looking to get a second-round pick for Kupp and would be willing to take on some of his salary for 2024.
When asked by reporters about trade rumors on Tuesday, Kupp said that he is “aware” of Rams’ plans to move him.
“I’m aware of it, but at the end of the day I’m gonna be where my feet are,” said Kupp. “That’s all I know. I have a job to do here, and I take a lot of pride in doing everything I can for the guys in this building and being able to step on the field knowing that I prepared the best that I can.”
Kupp started the 2024 campaign strong, making 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against the Detroit Lions. However, he suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 and has been sidelined since. The Super Bowl LVI MVP is expected to return to action for Thursday Night Football’s clash against the Minnesota Vikings.
The decision to trade Cooper Kupp might come as a surprise, but it makes a lot of sense for the Rams. Kupp was a key contributor in the LA team’s run to a Super Bowl win in the 2021 season but struggled with injuries ever since. Additionally, the Rams are having a disappointing season, sitting at 2-4, and could use draft capital and salary cap relief for 2025.
