Los Angeles Rams’ Coach Sean McVay confirmed on Wednesday that wide receiver Cooper Kupp would miss Week 7’s game against the San Francisco 49ers with a knee injury. The 25-year-old suffered a sprain last Sunday in Rams’ 23-20 away win over the Denver Broncos.

On the bright side, the Rams will welcome placekicker Greg Zuerlein who had been sidelined since game one with a groin injury. The 30-year-old will join forces with receivers Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Josh Reynolds to lead LA’s offensive line.

Welcoming Greg back to the team, Coach McVay said the team was excited to have the placekicker. “We’re excited to get Greg back,” – McVay said. “He had a good workout, feels good. Got the full clearance, thumbs up. So, that was why we made that decision and feel good about Greg moving forward.”

Earlier in the week, the Rams waived Cairo Santos and replaced him with Nick Williams but it’s unclear whether the 27-year-old will be available in Sunday’s game. McVay wished Santos “nothing but the best” and called him a “class act” after his service to the team.

The Rams field three wide receivers 95 percent of the time. Williams may miss out against the 49ers but start in Week 8 when Kupp is expected to get back.
