The Los Angeles Rams have acquired offensive lineman Kevin Dotson in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team confirmed the move on Sunday via social media.

Besides Dotson heading to LA, the trade includes a pair of pick swaps. The Rams will send the Steelers their fourth-round selection in 2024 and fifth-rounder in 2025 while receiving a fifth-round pick in 2024 and 2025 sixth-round selection in return.

Kevin Dotson entered the NFL in 2020 as the Steelers’ fourth-round pick and played 39 games with the franchise in the past three seasons. This includes starting all 17 games during the 2022 campaign.

The reason why the Steelers moved on from the 26-year-old Louisiana product is likely because they have their offensive line all covered up thanks to several free-agent additions like Isaac Seumalo. Also, Dotson is earning $2.7 million in 2023 while also entering the final year of his rookie deal.

The Rams reportedly made the trade because they felt Dotson would give them some additional depth at the position. The LA team already has their starters on the offensive line set, but several minor injuries and the absence of offensive tackle Joe Noteboom prompted the front office to get some additional cover.
