Manchester United opted to cut all of its ties with interim manager Ralf Rangnick after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign. The club announced that Rangnick won’t have any role with the organization moving forward and that his previously agreed-upon role as a consultant is scrapped.

Rangnick took over as Man Utd’s manager on an interim basis after the club sacked Ole Gunnar Solskajer back in November. The two sides initially agreed that the former RB Leipzig boss would finish the season and then take on the consultancy role for a period of two years. However, United’s poor finish in the Premier League and Rangnick’s new job as manager of Austria’s national team nixed the original agreement.

“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not, therefore, be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford,” said the club in a statement. “We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career.”

Ralf Rangnick posted an 11-10-8 record in all competitions as Manchester United’s manager. He led the club to a Round of 16 exit in the Champions League and no.6 place on Premier League standings. Rangnick will be succeeded by former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
