Las Vegas Raiders star wideout Davante Adams spent most of the offseason deflecting trade rumors and saying he wants to remain with the franchise. But that apparently didn’t stop the Raiders from shopping him around.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders informed the rest of the league that they would “consider” trading Adams. Their asking price is reportedly a second-round pick and additional compensation.

Despite turning 32 in December, Adams is still considered an elite wideout around the league. However, the issue for any team that would trade him, beyond the steep price, will likely be his contract.

Adams has a base salary of $17.5 million for 2024 but is owed just $13.5 million for the remainder of the season, which is quite a reasonable number for a player of his caliber. Yet, he is scheduled to earn $35.6 million in 2025, a number not a lot of teams, if any, would be willing to take on.

Adams joined the Raiders in a blockbuster trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2022 before agreeing to a five-year, $141.25 million contract. He was franchise-tagged by the Packers and rejected a new contract, instead wanting to team up with Derek Carr, his former college quarterback.

Since joining the Raiders, Adams caught 221 passes for 2,869 yards and 23 touchdowns. In the first three games of the 2024 season, he has 18 catches for 209 yards and a TD. He missed the Raiders’ Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury.
