The Las Vegas Raiders confirmed on Tuesday that the franchise traded star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets.

The Raiders will receive a conditional third-round selection in 2025 for Adams. The pick can become a second-rounder if Adams makes an All-Pro team this season or is part of the Jets’ active roster in the AFC Championship game or Super Bowl game.

The Raiders informed other teams about their willingness to trade Adams in early October. The Jets immediately emerged as a favorite due to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who shared the locker room with Adams in Green Bay. Several other teams were interested, including the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, but didn’t come close to meeting the Raiders’ asking price.

Trading Adams allowed the Raiders to get some draft compensation that could help them rebuild an underperforming team. They also parted ways with a player who wanted to win and was getting increasingly frustrated with the Raiders’ underwhelming performances.

The Jets, on the other hand, make another “all-in” move. After falling 2-4 in a season, they expected to be Super Bowl contenders, but the Jets are now banking that Rodgers and Adams can continue where they left off in Green Bay and get the offense back on track.

Adams played in three games in 2024, making 13 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown. He missed the last three games nursing a hamstring injury but is expected to be ready to take the field when the Jets face the Steelers on Sunday.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
