Las Vegas Raiders’ star pass rusher Maxx Crosby is set to undergo surgery to address an ankle injury and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Crosby initially suffered an ankle sprain in a Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He went on to play the next week before missing the Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns. Since then, he has played in every game and didn’t miss a single snap.

However, it appears that Crosby aggravated the injury in last week’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He hasn’t practiced all week and was ruled out for Monday Night Football clash against the Atlanta Falcons.

Crosby himself confirmed the news about his surgery and being out for the rest of the season in a social media post.

“As much as this pains me to write, I will not be playing the rest of the season,” Crosby wrote on Instagram. “Second time this year getting rolled up on the same ankle, and now it will require surgery. As much as it pains me to not go to war with my brothers and for the fans, I truly believe everything happens for a reason … I will get this surgery & be on a war path for greatness everyday and be back the best version of myself.”

While the Las Vegas Raiders haven’t been particularly good this season, Crosby continued to perform at a high level following three Pro Bowl seasons.

In 12 games in 2024, Crosby had 7.5 sacks while making 45 tackles, including a league-leading 17 for loss, 20 QB hits, and five pass deflections.
