Las Vegas Raiders’ already banged-up offensive line took another major blow on Wednesday. Raiders announced that they are placing Pro Bowl guard Richie Incognito on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least three weeks.

Incognito had issues with his Achilles in past weeks but still decided to play in Week 2 game against New Orleans Saints. This proved to be a bad decision, as the 37-year-old guard only made it through the first quarter before exiting the contest.

In a corresponding move, the Raiders elevated guard Patrick Omameh from practice squad to active roster. Omameh joined the Raiders this year, after playing 14 games with New Orleans in 2019.

Prior to losing Incognito, the Raiders were already pretty thin on the offensive line positions. They previously lost starting tackle Trent Brown to a calf injury, while his backup Sam Young has groin issues. Guard Denzelle Good stepped in for the duo last week, but he is also questionable for the next game due to illness.

The Raiders are now expected to turn to 2020’s fourth-round pick John Simpson. Simpson took Incognito’s place against the Saints, and he will likely start the Week 3 game against New England Patriots.

Richie Incognito joined the Raiders in 2019 after spending the previous season in retirement. Incognito started 12 games on left guard and was impressive enough to earn a Pro Bowl alternate selection last year. He inked a two-year, $14 million contract extension with the organization back in December.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
