Quinn Cook Says Lakers are “Really Excited to Get Things Going”

After missing out on Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Lakers embarked on a late spending spree this summer which included signing eight new players in just two days. With so many new faces on the roster, one might wonder whether the team will be able to build chemistry in such a short period of time.

However, one of Lakers’ new acquisitions, guard Quinn Cook, has no doubts that this group of players will mesh together just fine. According to Cook, the entire team is “really excited to get things going.”

“We have our team group chat going and the guys are very active in it.” – Cook told HoopsHype. “It feels like this team has been together for a while. Everyone has been really active in the group chat. … All of the guys are really excited to get things going. I know this NBA season will be one of the better ones for everyone.”

Cook also added that the entire team wants to win and that it’s the perfect situation for him.

Quinn Cook fits perfectly with the Lakers’ winning mentality as he was part of the Golden State Warriors in the past two years. Despite being a crucial role player, Warriors decided to part ways with the 26-year-old in order to create cap space to acquire D’Angelo Russell. But Cook has no bad feelings about the organization.

“I am very thankful for my opportunity [in Golden State],” –  he said. “I think I really took a big step forward in my NBA career in the two years that I was there. I accomplished some things there that I’d always dreamed of accomplishing.”

Cook played in 74 games with the Warriors last season, averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
