Punter Jon Ryan didn’t need a long time to find another job in NFL after being released by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the 36-year-old is heading to Buffalo and will ink a deal with the Bills.

Buffalo Bills are in need of a reliable punter since they are not pleased with the way Colton Schmidt performed in the past season. Also, Cory Carter, who supposed to serve as Schmidt’s competition for the season, tore his ACL last week and will most likely miss the 2018 season.

Jon Ryan started his career in the Canadian Football League, before signing with the Green Bay Packers in 2006. After being released by the Packers in 2008, he signed with the Seahawks. Following 10 successful years in Seattle, Ryan recently asked to be released by the organization, wanting to explore his options with other teams.

It’s been an absolute honor and privilege to play in this great city of Seattle for the past 10 years,” – said Ryan in a statement. “I never wanted this day to come, but I knew it would someday. Even though I’m leaving, I will always be a Seahawk.

Jon Ryan’s NFL career stats include 914 punts for 40,895 punting yards and average of 44.7 yards per punt. He won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013 season and was named Pro-Bowl alternate in 2009.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
