Another summer, another Kylian Mbappe saga. After making a big effort to keep Mbappe just a year ago, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are now reportedly ready to listen to offers for their star striker.

Mbappe re-signed with PSG last summer on a two-year deal that had an option for a third year. The player recently sent a letter to the club, informing them that he won’t be picking up that option. This will make him a free agent following the 2023-24 season.

Mbappe himself confirmed the news via a statement published by AFP.

“The board has been informed since July 15, 2022, of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter sent was only meant to confirm what I already told them, “said Mbappe.

PSG doesn’t want to lose Mbappe for free, as they recently did with Lionel Messi, and have told the Frenchman that he can either sign a new deal or leave in this upcoming transfer window. If Mbappe chooses the second option, the French club is expected to ask for at least €150 million in transfer fees.

La Liga giants Real Madrid are expected to be at the forefront of the pursuit of Kylian Mbappe once again. Real has been pursuing Mbappe for a while now and even made a reported €200 million offer for the player back in 2021.

Mbappe scored 40 goals and added 10 assists in all competitions this past season. His total of 212 goals for PSG makes him the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
