
Cristiano Ronaldo scored to help Portugal secure a valuable 3-1 win away from home over Poland in the UEFA Nations League. Bernardo Silva handed Portugal the lead in the first half before Ronaldo doubled their lead 11 minutes later with his 133rd international goal. While Poland pulled a goal back courtesy of Piotr Zielinski, Jan Bednarek’s own goal in the 87th minute sealed Portugal’s triumph.
Thanks to this latest victory, Portugal is now the comfortable leader in Group One of League A with three wins from three to collect nine points. They enjoy a three-point cushion over runners-up Croatia, who skipped past Poland with their 2-1 win over Scotland.
In League A Group 4, Spain defeated Denmark 1-0 to leapfrog them for the top spot in the group standings. In Group 3, Germany has maintained the number one spot while the Netherlands remained in second place. Italy continues to lead Group 2, with France trailing by a single point.
