Brazilian star midfielder Philippe Coutinho could make a surprise return to the Premier League this summer. According to the player’s agent Kia Joorabchianl, Coutinho wants to play in England again and might aim to do so sooner than later.

Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, but the Bundesliga powerhouse isn’t interested in keeping him long term. The 27-year-old is also considered out of favor at his parent club Barcelona, so signing with a Premier League club makes sense.

“He has a desire to come back to the Premier League at some point,” Joorabchian told Sky Sports in a recent interview. “It may not happen this year, it may happen this year but we don’t know. We really have not discussed anything for now.”

Reportedly, several clubs from England are monitoring Coutinho at the moment including Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea. Also, there are rumors that new owners of Newcastle United might make the Brazilian their first marquee signing.

Philippe Coutinho had his best performances in the Premier League, where he made 201 appearances and scored 54 goals with Liverpool between 2013 and 2017. Coutinho left the club in January 2018 to join Barcelona in a transfer worth close to $130 million, but that didn’t turn out to be the right move for his career.

In Spain, Coutinho delivered some solid performances, but never managed to justify his massive price tag. After an underwhelming season and a half on Camp Nou, he joined Bayern in an attempt to regain his form but failed to leave a significant mark there as well.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
