The reigning Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles, show no sign of slowing down. The team announced on Thursday that they have agreed a one year deal with former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Mike Wallace. The Eagles officially confirmed the deal, reportedly worth around $4 million, on their official Twitter profile.

Mike Wallace spent two seasons with the Ravens, playing in 31 of 32 games. During that time, he managed to catch 124 passes for 1,765 yards and added eight touchdowns. The 31-year-old also had eight plays of 50 or more yards.

After the 2017 season ended, he expressed his desire to stay in Baltimore if the team wants him but also added that he wanted to put himself in the best position to win.

I’ve made a lot of money,” – said Wallace at the time. “You’re not going to play for pennies, but at the same time, that’s not the most important thing to me. I want to win. That’s going to be my key – just put myself in the best situation I can to win a Super Bowl.

By joining the Philadelphia Eagles, Wallace will fill in the spot left vacant by Torrey Smith, who was traded to Carolina Panthers in exchange for cornerback Daryl Worley. The Eagles’ current wide receivers lineup consists of Nelson Agholor, Alshon Jeffery, Mack Hollins, and Shelton Gibson.

Mike Wallace was drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers who took him in the third round with the 84th overall pick. He led the league in average yards per reception with 19.4 in his rookie season. After playing three more seasons for the Steelers and appearing in 2011’s Pro-Bowl, Wallace signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2013. He spent two seasons in Miami and was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2015. Vikings released Wallace after a disappointing 2015 season, allowing him to sign with the Ravens.
