Following a standout performance at this year’s Copa America, Peru’s midfielder Renato Tapia has become a wanted man in the soccer world. The 23-year-old Feyenoord man recently sparked interest from several clubs from Europe, Mexico, and Major League Soccer.

According to Tapia’s agent Carlos Gonzales, interested clubs already started taking action and submitted offers for his client.

“For now I can not give details of any kind of negotiation, the only thing I can say is that we have not reached any agreement with any club, although we have received proposals from Europe, Mexico, MLS, Arabia,” – Gonzales told ESPN Mexico. “We will just evaluate these proposals together with Renato, taking into account that he has just finished his participation in Copa America, he has a Feyenoord contract for one more year and, for the moment, all the planning is with Feyenoord, owner of his rights.”

Tapia played six games for Peru at Copa America and helped his national team to reach the finals on the tournament. He contributed one assist.

Renato Tapia started his professional career in 2013 with Twente, playing 31 matches and scoring six goals during his three years with the club. He then joined Feyenoord in 2016 in a transfer worth close to $3 million but failed to establish himself as a part of the club’s starting 11.

Tapia spent the second part of 2018/19 season at the loan with Willem II, playing 16 games and scoring once.
