Multiple sources have reported that Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic is expected to sign for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer later this week. This comes after reports surfaced regarding Perisic’s interest in reuniting with Spurs coach Antonio Conte, who worked with Perisic during his time coaching Inter.
Following his reported agreement to a two-year contract, Perisic is scheduled to undergo a medical examination in London. The Croatian national is expected to join Tottenham on July 1 when his contract with Inter expires.
Prior to news surfacing of Perisic’s move to the Premier League, Inter offered the 33-year-old player a contract extension with Juventus also expressing interest in the winger. It is believed that Conte’s relationship with Perisic is what convinced the player to select Tottenham as his new club.
Perisic is expected to be one of the numerous signings for Antonio Conte this summer, with Spurs announcing a £150 million cash injection from its majority shareholders last week in an effort to boost the squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Spurs are believed to be interested in re-signing Christian Eriksen, who last played for the club in 2020 before signing for Inter Milan. Middlesbrough fullback Djed Spence is also among the club’s transfer targets.
