Most people think that LeBron James is still the best basketball player in the world, while some would put in Kevin Durant in that conversation as well. But New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis has a different opinion. According to the 25-year-old All-Star, he is currently “the best player in the game.”

In my eyes, I am the best player in the game. I really feel that way and nobody can tell me different,” – says Davis in a video that was recently posted on the Pelicans’ official Twitter.

While some people went on to call this statement “ridiculous,” there is no doubt that Anthony Davis has the potential to become the best one day. Davis entered the NBA in 2012 and managed to wow people with some phenomenal performances since then, earning five consecutive All-Star appearances since 2015 and being selected as NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2017. Davis also has three All-NBA First Team honors and has led the league in blocks three times.

While he was consistent in his performance through the better part of his professional career, Anthony Davis played his best basketball last season. He averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.6 blocks while carrying his Pelicans to the second round of Western Conference playoffs.

Since Davis is yet to reach his prime, it is hard not to get excited about his future potential. So, even if he isn’t the best player in the game at the moment, it shouldn’t be too long until he really becomes that.
