Paul Pogba’s soccer career might not be over after all. The former France international saw his four-year ban for doping reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), paving the way for him to return to action in early 2025.

Pogba was provisionally suspended by the Italian Anti-Doping National Tribunal in September 2023 after testing positive for a banned substance. Despite the player insisting the positive test was a result of nutritional supplements prescribed to him by a doctor, he was handed a four-year ban.

Pogba confirmed his reduced ban, a result of a CAS appeal, in a statement shared on social media, saying that “finally the nightmare is over.”

“Following the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again,” Pogba said. “I always stated that I never knowingly breached World Anti-Doping Agency regulations when I took a nutritional supplement prescribed to me by a doctor, which does not affect or enhance the performance of male athletes.”

Pogba also shared a photo of his cleats on X (former Twitter); his first social media post in more than a year.

Pogba can return to competitive soccer in March 2025. He is currently contracted to Juventus until the summer of 2026 after signing with Seria A side as a free agent in 2022.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
