The New England Patriots are moving on from wideout N’Keal Harry. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, the Pats have trade Harry to the Chicago Bears and will get a 2024 seventh rounder in exchange.

Harry leaves New England with a reputation as one of the Pats’ biggest draft busts in recent memory. The Arizona State product was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft but he never managed to get his career going at Gillette Stadium. Injuries and inconstancy have limited Harry to just 33 as a Patriot and 57 catches for 598 yards and four touchdowns in three years.

The Bears obviously don’t have much to lose with this move. Harry had 213 receptions for 2,889 yards and 22 TDs at college, so they know the talent is there. They can hope that the change of scenery will help the 24-year-old to be more productive, but even if that isn’t the case, they haven’t made a significant investment.

On the other hand, the Patriots are getting around $1 million in cap relief and a draft pick for a player that they would probably cut at one point before the season. New England seems set at wide receiver with the likes of DeVante Parker, Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, and Kendrick Bourne, so Harry would be an afterthought even if he was to stay.
