New England Patriots are loading up on the wide receiver position. The team announced on Tuesday that they have signed free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas to a deal. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Thomas inked a one-year, $6 million deal.

The team confirmed the move on their official social media while also announcing they have re-signed cornerback Jonathan Jones.

Thomas started 2018 with Denver Broncos before being traded to the Houston Texans mid-season for a fourth-round pick. However, he only managed to play three games with the Texans before tearing up his Achilles. The 31-year-old ended the year playing 12 games and catching 43 passes for 501 yards and five touchdowns.

With Demaryius Thomas, New England Patriots will get a proven veteran who went for 1,000+ yards in five consecutive seasons. Thomas, who was a first round pick in 2011, also has a Super Bowl ring in his collection while being named to five Pro Bowls. His NFL career stats include 688 receptions for 9,330 yards and 62 touchdowns.

Jonathan Jones signed with New England in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. Since then he played 48 regular season games (10 as a starter) and has tallied 98 tackles, 2.5 sacks and four interceptions.
