It didn’t take long for wide receiver Cameron Meredith to find a new job after being released by the New Orleans Saints earlier this week.
New England Patriots announced on Friday that they have agreed to a deal with Meredith. The team, however, did not disclose the details of the contract.
Due to Julian Edelman’s injury and Josh Gordon’s absence, Pats became thin in the receivers department and were on the market to add a WR for some time now. Meredith presents a low risk/high reward option, as he proved that he can be a game-changer when healthy.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Giardi, New England will take the slow approach with Meredith and won’t rush to bring him onto the field.
New Orleans Saints signed Cameron Meredith on a two-year, $9.6 million deal in early 2018 with an intention of making him the team’s second WR option behind Michael Thomas. These plans never came to fruition, however, as Meredith struggled with injuries and inconsistency last year. During his time with New Orleans, he played in just six games recording nine receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown.
