Paris Saint Germain Set Record With Victory Against Rennes

Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre in China was the proving ground for the Trophee des Champions this weekend. The two French clubs Paris Saint Germain and Rennes faced each other in a match for the trophy.

Spectators in China and all around the world had a chance to watch a great match in which the two clubs showed a dynamic and exciting play.  

The Ligue 1 champions PSG managed to beat the French Cup winners Rennes, finishing the match with a final score of 2-1.  

Rennes took the initiative when Adrien Hunou scored the opening goal of the match in the 13th minute of the first half. Rennes continued to dominate the game until the 57th minute of the match when Kylian Mbappe’s goal equalized the score. Paris Saint Germain’s victory was secured in the 73rd minute when Angel Di Maria scored a second goal with an unbelievable free-kick for the club, bringing them the Trophee des Champions. 

With this victory, the French club managed to set a new record, winning this title for the 7th consecutive time which allowed them to surpass the current record of 6 victories in a row, held by the club Lyon.
