The Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally revealed the nature of a thumb injury that he’s been dealing with in recent weeks. According to Rodgers, his thumb is broken, but that won’t stop him from getting on the field every week.

Rodgers initially hurt his thumb in Week 6 loss to the Giants after being sacked by linebacker Oshane Ximines. He was visibly uncomfortable after that play and would go on to have tape on his thumb in the following games.

Rodgers refused to go into details about the injury on previous occasions but finally came clean about it in his weekly interview on Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. He explained that he didn’t feel the need to address it because he is able to play.

“It doesn’t make a difference with me playing,” Rodgers said. “It doesn’t make a difference. You saw the tape on my thumb. Didn’t make a difference.”

Rodgers has been mostly struggling since the Giants game, including delivering a poor performance by his standards in Week 11 loss to the Tennessee Titans. However, Rodgers said he doesn’t want to use the injury as an excuse.

“My thumb was hurting a lot worse in the Dallas game, and I put the ball where I wanted to,” he added.

After back-to-back MVP campaigns, Rodgers has been average at best in 2022. He is currently completing 64.6 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,542 yards and 19 touchdowns. The 38-year-old also has seven interceptions so far.
