The Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst revealed on Monday that the team would like Aaron Rodgers to remain next season. Well, certainly that’s an offseason-type kind of decision, but surely, yeah,” Gutenkunst replied when asked by the press about Rodgers’ future at the team.

Rodgers is currently on a three-year, $150 million contract with the team that runs through the 2024 season. The deal includes a $58.3 million guaranteed bonus for the 2023 season which is only voided upon Rodgers’ retirement should it happen before the end of the 2023 season.

According to Gutenkunst, there is still no guarantee that the quarterback will remain with the Packers next year. He added that Rodgers has not yet expressed whether or not he would like to remain with the team. Ultimately, the pair will have to discuss Rodgers’ future during the offseason, Gutenhunst admitted.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur is adamant that he would like Rodgers to remain with the squad next season despite the 39-year-old player’s numerous injury woes over the past season. The veteran has played through a broken thumb as well as a rib injury this season.
