The Green Bay Packers could see a key piece of their offensive line walk away in the upcoming free agency. In a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Packers All-Pro center Corey Linsley indicated that he expects to play “somewhere else” in the 2021 NFL season.

Linsley is set to become a free agent in March after failing to get a new deal from Green Bay. There’s still a chance that two sides could find an agreement, but the 29-year-old veteran isn’t optimistic about that outcome.

“We’re not closing the door for anything,” said Linsley when asked about his future. “Obviously we’d never do that for any team, especially the Packers, but yeah it definitely feels weird. It looks like all signs are pointing towards snapping the ball somewhere else next year.”

Corey Linsley has been one of the Packers’ most reliable players in recent years, starting 99 games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He especially played well in 2020, being among the best centers in the league and earning a First-Team All-Pro nod.

While Green Bay would probably like to have him back, their cap situation will likely prevent this from happening. They have several needs they need to address in free agency while still sitting at around $10 million over the projected salary cap.

Linsley, on the other hand, is expected to cash in on his stellar campaign and have a number of suitors.
