NFL is adding a new city to its International Series. The league announced that it will play a 2024 regular season game in São Paulo, Brazil. This will be the first-ever NFL game staged in the country.

The game will be played at Corinthians Arena, which has a capacity of 49,205 and serves as home to the soccer club Corinthians.

Staging a game in Brazil isn’t the only news when it comes to the International Series. Releasing a statement on Wednesday, the league revealed that it plans to increase the number of international games to eight starting in 2025.

“With this vote, beginning in 2025, the NFL will have the right to schedule up to eight regular season games per season internationally,” the NFL said. “New markets and host cities/stadiums for future seasons will be announced at later dates.”

NFL played five international games this season. Three took place in London, UK, and two were staged in Germany. The next season is expected to feature three games for London again, one game for Germany at Munich’s Allianz Arena, and now one for Brazil.

The league is looking to extend its reach to even more markets. Reportedly, one of the locations NFL brass is looking into is Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain.
