Brazilian star forward Neymar is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. According to reports from the French media, Neymar told PSG that he wants out and that he prefers a return to La Liga side Barcelona.

Neymar’s transfer request comes several weeks after French superstar Kylian Mbappe informed the club that he wouldn’t sign a new contract. Earlier this summer, Argentinean superstar Lionel Messi left Paris as a free agent and signed with MLS side Inter Miami.

PSG is reportedly willing to move on from Neymar and start fresh. However, it is unclear whether a deal with Barca can be struck, considering the Spanish club’s financial problems. Instead, they are focusing on talks with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea.

It is believed that Chelsea would be open to bringing in Neymar on an initial loan before making the move permanent. PSG, on the other hand, is insisting on a €60 million transfer fee. Multiple Saudi Arabia clubs have already informed Ligue 1 champions that they would pay this kind of fee, but it is unclear whether the player would be open to a move out of Europe.

Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in 2017 after the French club activated his €222 million release clause. Since then, the Brazilian has played 173 games with the club, scoring 118 goals and adding 77 assists. He won five Ligue 1 titles with PSG during that time.
