Brazil forward Neymar is set to make his return to the field in his team’s World Cup round of 16 clash with South Korea on Monday night. The player has been sidelined since injuring his ankle during Brazil’s opening group game against Serbia.

“If he practices OK, he will be playing tomorrow,” Brazil coach Tite said during a news conference, implying that Neymar’s form during Sunday’s training session will determine whether or not he is in a position to play against South Korea.

When asked if Neymar could be used as a substitute against South Korea should his injury persist, Tite commented that he prefers to use his best players from the start of the match, confirming that this is not an option that he is considering. He also stated that Neymar’s return to action would happen with the approval of the Brazilian medical team.

Danilo, who also injured his ankle in the 2-0 win over Serbia, may also make his return, Tite revealed. Neymar, Danilo, and Alex Sandro are all expected to train on Sunday to determine their match fitness.
