New York Knicks Name Leon Rose Team President

The New York Knicks, one of the most revered and beloved franchises in the National Basketball Association, have fallen on hard times recently. A lack of success combined with questionable front office decisions have combined to wear out a lot of the good will left in the Big Apple for its main team.

The Knicks made a move on Monday that they hope will help to turn around the franchise’s fortunes, hiring long-time player agent Leon Rose as the team’s new president.

Rose replaces Steve Mills, who took over as the Knicks’ president in July of 2017 but didn’t find much success in cleaning up the mess left behind by his predecessors.

The team’s new president, a New Jersey native, is going to be asked to rebuild the credentials of a franchise that has failed to make the playoffs in each of the past seven seasons.

His experience in the game of basketball is deep, having served as one of the sport’s most prominent agents in a respected 25-year career that saw him negotiate with teams and owners on behalf of players such as LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Allen Iverson.

Rose will have a stable of draft picks and a decent collection of young talent to work with as he looks to take the Knicks back to their glory days in an NBA that has been too competitive for the franchise lately.
