Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants is grabbing the headlines once again. According to ESPN, Beckham has been handed $12,154 from the NFL due to his touchdown celebration against the Philadelphia Eagles. In a game which ended 24-27 in favor of the Eagles, Beckham simulated a dog urinating after a touchdown. This celebration also hurt his team, since the Giants got a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.
“I’m a dog, so I acted like a dog- I don’t know if the rulebook said you can’t hike your leg. He said I peed on somebody, so I was trying to find the imaginary ghost that I peed on. But I didn’t see him.” Beckham told reporters after the game while adding that he thinks he did nothing wrong. You can check the incident below.

Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t only get the fine, but also made the Giants’ owner co-owner John Mara very unhappy.
“I do not want to get into a discussion about this, but I will say that I am very unhappy with Odell’s behavior on Sunday and we intend to deal with it internally.” – said Mara in an email that he sent to multiple media outlets.
Giants coach Ben McAdoo didn’t want to comment on the matter, while QB Eli Manning said he didn’t see Beckham’s celebration during the game.
There are speculations that this kind of celebration from Odell Beckham Jr. had something to do with recent comments about NFL players protests made by President Donald Trump. It is important to note that Beckham scored two touchdowns in the 4th quarter of the game against the Eagles. The first was the “dog celebration” and the second he celebrated with a raised fist. Beckham hinted that his celebrations could have some hidden meaning while responding to one of his fans on Twitter.
