After the loss to the Miami Dolphins on Monday, it looks like the New England Patriots decided their roster needs a bit of tweaking. The team has announced on Wednesdays that they have signed free agent wide receiver Kenny Britt among other moves. Britt already played nine games this NFL season as the member of the Cleveland Browns, four of them being starts. During that time he had 18 catches for 223 yards while contributing with two touchdowns.

Kenny Britt was taken by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft and went on to play there for five years. He then signed a deal with the St. Louis Rams (now LA Rams) in 2014 and managed to break the 1,000 receiving yards mark last season. That managed to get him a four-year, $32.5 million contract with the Browns in March 2017, but they were not satisfied with his efforts. Maybe his luck will change for better under Bill Belichick.

This, however, wasn’t the only move the Patriots made on Wednesday. The team also re-signed defensive tackle Ricky Jean Francois. The 31-year old first played six games for the Green Bay Packers, before being released in November. The Patriots then signed him to a deal, but he appeared in three games as a reserve, before being released. Now he will have a chance to prove his worth once again.

In order to make room on the roster for Britt and Jean Francois, the Patriots released wide receiver Bernard Reedy and linebacker Jonathan Freeny. Reedy appeared in two games as a returner and recorder 32 return yards. Freeny was featured in just one game, making two tackles.

The Patriots also announced they have placed offensive tackle Marcus Cannon on injured reserve.
