Fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and new Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has chosen the number that he will wear with his new team.

Tagovailoa, who was unable to choose the #13 jersey that he wore in college due to the number being retired in honor of Dolphins great Joe Marino, will go with number 1 in his pro career.

The Hawaii native announced his choice in a post on social media on Tuesday, sending Dolphins fans scrambling to their team’s online store to order his new jersey.

Tagovailoa, a finalist for the 2018 Heisman Trophy, was the second signal-caller selected in this year’s draft. The long-presumed first overall pick in the draft fell to Miami at #5 after a 2019 season that saw him suffer a serious hip injury as well as the emergence of first overall pick Joe Burrow.
