NBA veteran Jamal Crawford had a solid last season when he averaged 7.9 points and 3.6 assists with Phoenix Suns. This season, however, Crawford is still unsigned and that is not sitting well with the 39-year-old.

Crawford recently had a chat with NBA.com’s Shaun Powell, saying that “it’s baffling” to him that he remained a free agent until now.

“I know I can play,” – said Crawford. “And I would think my reputation is still solid. It’s baffling to me.”

Despite spending 19 years in the NBA, Crawford still wants to play and thinks he can be a contributor to a team.

“Physically, I feel better than I did last season,” – he added. “I’m able to get my body together. My skill set is sharp. I feel that I’m good. My mindset is be patient and hopefully something good comes about it. I’ll be ready for the opportunity.”

With Iman Shumpert and Carmelo Anthony all getting another chance in the NBA in recent days, it is expected that some teams start looking towards Jamal Crawford. However, he will have to find the right fit in order to continue his NBA career.

The teams that could be interested in Crawford are young teams who need strong veteran leadership on the roster. Also, the teams that could use an efficient shooter for a deep playoff run might also take a look at him.

Crawford, eighth overall pick in 2000, played with Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers over the course of his NBA career. His career stats include averaging 14.6 points, 3.4 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game.
