French shooting guard Evan Fournier is leaving the NBA after 12 seasons in the league. Fournier was unveiled as a new player for EuroLeague side Olympiacos after inking a two-year deal with the Greek club.

Fournier, who split the 2023-24 season between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons, will reportedly earn a $2 million annual salary while at Olympiacos.

Fournier made the headlines last season after being frozen out by Knicks’ head coach, Tom Thibodeau, to start the season. He only played three games with the Knicks, averaging 12.9 minutes on the floor and scoring a total of 12 points.

Ahead of the trade deadline, Fournier was traded to the Pistons, where he managed to get some of his groove back. He made 29 appearances off the bench and averaged 7.2 points per game.

Detroit declined their 19 million option on Fournier at the end of the season, making him a free agent. While he was expected to get some interest from other NBA teams in free agency, the market didn’t shape up the way the 31-year-old Frenchman expected, and he ended up returning to Europe.

Fournier last played in Europe in 2012 as a member of French side Poitiers. He was drafted 20th overall by the Denver Nuggets in the same year and later went on to play for the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics before stints with the Knicks and Pistons.
