Basketball fans in Mexico City will get a taste of NBA in the 2018-19 season as well. The league announced on Tuesday that Mexico City will host two NBA games in December. Orlando Magic will play Chicago Bulls on December 13th, and then they will face Utah Jazz two days later. Both games will be played at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico.

Returning to Mexico City for two regular-season games this season reinforces our commitment to growing basketball in Mexico and Latin America.” – said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. “NBA teams have been playing in Mexico for more than 25 years, and the Bulls, Jazz, and Magic organizations are excited to continue the tradition of bringing the live game experience to our passionate Mexican fans.

This will mark the third consecutive time that the league organized two regular season games in Mexico City. With today’s announcement, NBA also confirmed its dedication to bringing NBA experience to basketball fans in Mexico in the years to come.

NBA regular season games could be just a beginning of the league’s expansion to Mexico. Commissioner Silver said last year that the league is considering approving an NBA G League franchise to Mexico City.

In total, 25 NBA games have been played in Mexico City since 1992, most in any other country besides the United States and Canada. Other countries that had an opportunity to host NBA games include Japan, China, and Great Britain.
