After the NBA regular season began on Tuesday, 22 teams swung into action on Wednesday. The Raptors led by newcomer Kawhi Leonard defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 116-104. Leonard finished the game with 24 points and 12 rebounds after starting the game to a fitting ceremony.

“It felt great,” Leonard said about the pre-match ceremony. “They gave me some more energy, I felt the support, and it only fuelled me to play better.”

Derozan Scores 28 in Spurs Debut

DeMar DeRozan hit a mid-range jumper to commence his reign in San Antonio with a bang. The game ended with the 29-year-old having scored 28 points and the Spurs beating the Timberwolves 112-108. Speaking of Wolves, Jimmy Butler was in action on Wednesday after an offseason that revolved around his future in Minnesota.

The 29-year-old scored 23 points and seven rebounds but his stellar performance was not enough to secure Minnesota a win over the Spurs.

Pelicans Crash Rockets

The Pelicans made a statement with a 130-110 win over the Houston Rockets in a night Anthony Davis and Nikola Mirotica played like the stars they are. Davis scored 32 points and 16 bounds while his counterpart scored 30 points and 10 rebounds as Houston’s Carmelo Anthony struggled to convert 3 of 10 shots from the field.
