Despite being on the radar of several top European clubs, Nigerian star forward Victor Osimhen won’t be leaving Napoli anytime soon. The defending Seria A champions just announced that Osimhen inked a new contract that will keep him with the club through the 2025-26 season.

The new deal adds another year of control for Napoli compared to Osimhen’s previous contract while doubling the 24-year-old’s salary. Osimhen is now expected to earn north of $11 million annually. The agreement also comes with a release clause of €120 million.

Osimhen has been one of the best players in Seria A in recent years and was just crowned the African Player of the Year. Napoli received multiple bids for the player in the past, including a reported $200 million offer from one Saudi Arabia club, but wasn’t interested in moving him.

Victor Osimhen was the key player in Napoli’s title run last season, scoring 26 goals in Seria and adding five more in other competitions. Injuries and coaching changes caused Osimhen’s form to take a slight dip in 2023-24, but he is still the club’s best scorer with seven goals in 12 Seria A matches.

Osimhen played for VfL Wolfsburg, Charleroi, and Lille earlier in his career. He joined Napoli in a €70 million transfer in the summer of 2020.
