Manchester United and Napoli have agreed on a transfer fee for Scott McTominay, ESPN reported. Napoli’s bid for the Man United midfielder is believed to be around £25 million, with United permitting the player to enter talks with the Italian club over personal terms.

For the majority of the summer, transfer rumors have been floating around about McTominay’s potential departure from Old Trafford. Everton and Fulham are two sides that have been continuously linked with the Scottish international, however, Fulham’s bid for the player was reportedly rejected by United, with the transfer offer deemed to be too low. Furthermore, McTominay has been reluctant to join another Premier League team given his association with United since the age of six.

It is believed that McTominay’s departure from the club will give manager Erik ten Hag greater financial flexibility to secure the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, a long-term transfer target of the club. While United have refused to meet PSG’s asking price of £51 million, Ugarte has sat out of both of PSG’s Ligue 1 games so far this season in the hopes of completing a move to United.
