The breakup between Egypt star forward Mohamed Salah and Premier League giants Liverpool is becoming more likely with each passing day. According to Salah, he already accepted that the 2024-25 season will be his last with the club as the two sides have made “no progress” in contract talks so far.

Salah has less than six months left on his deal and can become a free agent in the summer. While he expressed his wish to remain at the club on multiple occasions, The Reds are yet to present him with an offer that would make that happen.

While talking with reporters on Friday, Salah was asked whether he thinks he is playing his last season in Liverpool.

“So far? Yes. Into the last six months, there is no progress there, we’re far away from any progress, so we just need to wait and see,” Salah responded.

His impending exit from Liverpool seemed to have fueled Salah to deliver a stellar campaign so far. He scored 17 goals and added 13 assists in the Premier League alone and is the main reason why Liverpool is sitting at the top of the standings at the moment.

Besides Salah, Liverpool is also bracing for the possible exit of two more key players. Veteran center-back Virgil van Dijk and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold are also set to become free agents in the summer and are increasingly unlikely to sign extensions.
