According to multiple sources, Minnesota Vikings signed their Pro Bowl Adam Thielen to a four-year extension, which is worth $64 million. The team confirmed the news on Friday but didn’t reveal any details except that they agreed to a multi-year contract with the 28-year-old.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Thielen’s new deal will net him $35 million in guaranteed money. Before signing the extension, he had two years left on his deal and was set to earn $5.8 million in 2019 and $5.3 million in 2020 in base salaries.

The overall value of the contract was confirmed by Thielen’s agent on Instagram.

Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins also went on Twitter and congratulated his teammate.

Adam Thielen signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 as an undrafted free agent and has since established himself as one of NFL’s top wide receivers. After struggling in his first two years in Minnesota, Thielen had a breakthrough season in 2016 when he had 69 receptions for 967 yards and five touchdowns. He continued to build on this success and returned the following season to have 1,276 receiving yards and earn his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Although Vikings didn’t make the playoffs in 2018, Thielen had his best season having caught 113 passes for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns.
